The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Overlook Cemetery . Mr. Minter was born in Henry County, Va. and was a retired Steamfitter. He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 491 in Roanoke, Va. for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice Allen Minter of the home; son, Robert Wayne Minter of Salem, Va.; daughter, Faye Hill and husband, Russell of Eden; brother, Jack Minter and wife Lucille of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Mark Wayne Minter and wife Mary of Roanoke, Va., Donna W. Eller and husband Lynn of Rocky Mt., Va., David Lee Minter of Salem, Va., Jan Travis and husband Mike of Eden; two great-grandchildren, Megan Lynne Eller and Katherine Grace Minter.
