Her birth was registered in the St Marylebone registration district in the second quarter of 1915, twice, once as Annie E CONLEY (mother's surname) but also as Annie E DUFFIELD (father's surname). On 1 January 1931 Annie's parents registered her again, as DUFFIELD. The 'birth certificate' copy which Mavis Roper obtained in 2005 indicates that Annie Eleanor was born in Queen Charlotte's Hospital, father George Frederick DUFFIELD, mother Janett DUFFIELD formerly CONLEY. Father's occupation gas fitter (Gas Light & Coke Company). Informant G F Duffield, father, 163 High Road, Leyton, London E15.
