From an Andrews Newspaper Index Card (at Ancestry.co.uk) dated 26 Nov 1962: 1. Newspaper clipping: Harrison Wellard Minter, late of 162 City Way, Rochester, Kent, died at Maidstone, Kent, on 14th February 1962 (Estate about £5,700). The kin of the above named are requested to apply to the Treasury Solicitor (BV), 28 Broadway, Westminster, London SW1. 2. Son of Henry Harrison Minter a whitesmith & Phoebe Minter formerly Holloway. Born 18.4.1887 at 76 High Street Herne Bay (Herne SD). Regd. by father, same address. 3. M.G.B.M. event -- 162 City Way, Rochester but found the house empty - on making enquiries at adjacent house, acertained the following:- Decd died at 75 at Oakwood Mental Hospital Maidstone a w-- - wife died about 1947 - resided at Herne Bay, Kent before coming to live [card ends here and is continued on another card filed under Harrison Winston Minter] at last address about 1935 - had property at Herne Bay - a precision engineer (retired) - a sister, namely Mrs ---- Beale, resided at 162 aforesaid from about 1954 until she died a week before the dec'd at same address. She had a daughter Beryl, spinster, who died at (Oakwood)? Mental Hospital aforesaid about three years ago. She had no other children as far as known. Deceased may have had another brother & sister (both dead). Deceased's solicitors were probably Bassett & Boucher, Rochester. 4. Harrison Winston (sic) Minter of 162 City Way, Rochester, Balloon maker Engineers (Retd) died 14.2.1962 at Oakwood Hospital, Maidstone age 74. Reg. ---- to be buried of 246 Wilson --- Rochester. Card ends with a note 'Checked for 2nd name by RG & it is Winston'. A third Card, under the name Harrison Wellard Minter reads as follows: [Will] done in England. Having made & executed his Will appointing Winifred Mary Minter his wife sole extx & u/c(?) who died in lifetime. Deceased died a widower without issue, parent, brother or sister of whole or half blood or their issue or grandparent.
