January 1879: labourer of 2 Ashmole Cottage, Church Street, Notting Hill. 1881 census: George died in 1880; his widow Annie (33) lived at 2 Ashmole Cottages, Lambeth with children Charles (6, scholar), Agnes (4, scholar) and Arthur (2) and a lodger James Biggs (39, unmarried). Annie's place of birth is given as Farrington; 'Somerset' has been added in a different hand. 1891 census: at 1 Albert Cottages, Lambeth, Anne (45), Charles (16, porter (hatter's)), Agnes (14, shopgirl (confectioners)) and Arthur (12, scholar). Ann(i)e's place of birth is given as Oxfordshire, Bowidge(?).
