  Notes	From John J. Minter: The Crick family travelled north to Barnsley before 1851 - found in the census there for 1851, Townend, Barnsley, Thomas Crick a weaver, 34, Susan, 28. They have Emma, 8 and Betsy, 6. Clearly their children must have been born outside Yorkshire. Thomas was a linen weaver - handloom - he adapted to the linen mills of the north, weaving on power looms. By 1861 the family are at 1 Wood's Yard, Dodworth Road, Barnsley, Thomas, 44, a power loom weaver, Susanna, 37, Emma, 18 - a power loom weaver, Elizabeth, 17, also a power loom weaver. By 1871 the girls have left home, leaving the newly promoted Thomas, 54, a steam loom tuner, with Susan, aged 48. Both at 2, Eldon Terrace, Dodworth Road, Barnsley. In 1881, they are on Summer lane, Barnsley. Thomas, 64, a power loom tuner - now claims birth at Mowep Hill, Suffolk. Wife Susan is 59. In 1891, Susan is a widow, living with others at 14 Racecommon Road, Barnsley, she is a needlewoman aged 70 - perhaps she is a bit confused too as her birthplace is now Diss, Norfolk! However, Palgrave and Diss are very close across the Norfolk - Suffolk border. April 2006: Thomas and Susan's grave found in Barnsley Cemetery.
