Mrs Harry T. Minter Wife of Former Organist Dies
Mrs Harry T. Minter of 550 Minto Place, Rockcliffe, wife of the late Harry T. Minter former organist at St. Bartholomew's Church, and a resident of Ottawa for the past 42 years, died Wednesday in hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 85.
Born and educated at Glasgow, Scotland, she was the former Margaret Ferguson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ferguson.
Mrs Minter was married at London, England, to Harry T. Minter, who predeceased her in 1931. Mr. Minter served as organist at St. Bartholomew's Church for 19 years.
A highly esteemed elder member of that church, Mrs. Minter came to Canada with her husband in 1906 taking up residence in Ottawa in 1908.
Surviving are three daughters. Mrs. A.J. Gates (Dorothy), Ottawa, and Misses Ella and Mildred Minter, at home; two sons, Harry, Pointe Claire, Que., and George Minter, Ottawa; three sisters, Mrs. Ernest Shearer, and Misses Elizabeth and Catherine Ferguson, all living in England, together with five grandchildren.
The body is at Hulse and Playfair's from where the funeral will take place to St. Bartholomew's Church for the service to be conducted by Rev. A.T. Carson on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock.
Interment will be made in Beechwood cemetery.
