John and Victorine had another son in 1911.
John Thomas Diaper was killed in action in Flanders on 30 October 1917 and is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial at Passchendaele, Arrondissement Ieper, West Flanders, Belgium (source findagrave.com). John had been seving in the 3rd (City of London) Battalion (Royal Fusiliers), Regimental number 253604 (source UK, Soldiers Died in the Great War, 1914-1919 at ancestry.com).
Sons John and Norman were discharged from the Northumberland Street Workhouse, St Marylebone on 7 June 1918, at their own request. John had been admitted on 6 June from the infirmary.
Norman was discharged again on 20 September 1918.
