| Notes |
- I think the following census entries refer to this Henry Minter, although the ages don't match exactly.
1841 census: at Bill Hill House, Hurst, Wiltshire (home of John L & Charlotte GOWER and their family) Henry MINTER (45, male servant, not born in Wiltshire). His name appears below those of Lord and Lady JERSEY, who were apparently visitors at Bill Hill House when the census was taken. But it's impossible to say whether Henry was a servant to Lord and Lady Jersey or was one of the numerous servants to the GOWER household. John Leveson Gower was a descendant of Nicholas Tufton, created Earl of Thanet in 1628.
1851 census: at Sodbury House, Farringdon, Berkshire (home of Daniel & Mavis BENNETT, Daniel being a landed proprietor and magistrate, born Blackheath, Kent). Henry MINTER (widower*, 60, butler, born Canterbury, Kent). There were four other servants and an agricultural labourer living at the house. Sodbury House is now a hotel.
