August 2014: google maps shows 56 High Street as Coral bookmakers. The building housing 55 & 56 High Street is Grade II listed. 1881 census: at 82 Cambridge Street, Ladywood, Birmingham, Thomas (43, draper) and Ann (20, draper's wife, born Birmingham). Son Harry (16, engine shaper at works) was a boarder at 7 St Martins Place, Ladywood, Birmingham (where his father was to live in 1891). No trace of son Charles. 1891 census: a boarder at 7 St Martins Place, Ladywood, Birmingham, Thomas (53, widower, commercial traveller). No trace of Harry or Charles. 1901 census (indexed by ancestry.com as MINTON, and recorded as such): boarder at 14 King Edwards Road, Ladywood, Birmingham, Thomas (64, salesman). 1911 census: Thomas (74, widower, pensioner, born Goodnestone, Dover, Kent) was a boarder with Harriet WHALE (81, widow, born Birmingham) at Back 8 Cambridge Street, Birmingham (2 rooms).
