    • According to Trevor Gosling, Ann married William Field but no trace of this marriage has been found. They apparently both drowned during a passage to Australia in 1878.
April 2008: more from Trevor Gosling on the above:
"I advised you that Ann Madams (1843) died with her husband William Field en route to Australia in 1878. The date was actually 20th January 1887 when the vessel 'Kapunda' was wrecked off the coast of South America. You can read about it here:-

      http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/passengerlists/kapunda.html

The Field family were travelling in style in the Saloon.

Her elder sister Esther married George Measday on 14th October 1861 in Sandwich, Kent. They initially emigrated to Australia arriving 20th June 1864 and returning to Britain on 15th Jan 1878. In 1881 the family re-emigrated to the USA. Their eldest daughter Clara died on route to Australia in 1864, but all the other 9 children settled in the USA and started a huge dynasty of Measdays. I have all the details if you would like them. Esther died in Deming, Luna, New Mexico in March 1938 aged 95. George Measday died on 21st Sept 1889 in Edna, Jackson, Texas."
