Edward J MARSH was Caroline's first husband's nephew ie the son of Richard MARSH who was born in 1840 to Edward Minter MARSH and his wife Emma (BRENCHLEY). Edward and Caroline married in 1891 and are found in the: 1901 census: in Sturry Street, Sturry, Kent, Edward J MARSH (37, carpenter & joiner), Caroline E MARSH (49, dressmaker), A Herbert MINTER (15, clerk, railway), Richard MINTER (12, scholar), Edith M MARSH (8, scholar) and Edward C MARSH (6, scholar). 1911 census: in Sturry, Canterbury, Kent (4 rooms), Edward John MARSH (head, 47, carpenter & joiner, born Sturry, Kent), Caroline Elizabeth MARSH (59, married 19 years, 4 children, 2 living, born Canterbury), Edith Mary MARSH (daughter, 18, millinery, born Sturry) and Edward Charles MARSH (son, 16, garden boy). November 2006: Hazel Minter visited Kingscott 5 or 6 years ago and found the Rolle Arms still there. Hazel visited the local churchyard but could find nothing of relevance to her family.
