  Notes	As William Minter, enlisted in the Dragoons of the Line on 17 June 1895, then aged 18 years 3 months, a labourer. Service no. 4115. Next of kin father John Minter of Mill House, Brabourne, near Ashford, Kent. Appointed Lance Corporal on 8 December 1897 and reverted to Private on 29 March 1898. Did not serve overseas. Willie bought himself out of the army for £18 in December 1898. He re-joined the Dragoons on 30 April 1900, then 23, a carpenter. Next of kin father John, mother Sarah Mary, brother Thomas and sister Alice all of Mill House, Brabourne, Kent. He was discharged on 29 April 1901. 1911 census: at 2 Cassiobury Road, Weymouth, Dorset (7 rooms), William (head, 34, married, inspector RSPCA, born Ulcombe nr Staplehurst, Kent), Rose Caroline (wife, 32, married 9 years, no children, born Brabourne, Kent) and Carrie Amelia BACK (sister in law, 18, single, shop assistant, confectionery, worker, born Brabourne). Form signed William Minter. 1921 census: at 1, Marine Villa, the Marina, Deal, Kent (both MINTER), Willie Urbane (head, 44y 3m, married, born Ulcombe nr Maidstone, Kent, refreshment house keeper on own account at home) and Rose Caroline (wife, 42y 5m, married, born Brabourne nr Ashford, Kent, assistant in the refreshment house). Effects £1546 2s 10d. November 2008: Willie appears in the Genes Reunited tree of Paula Boddington. Rose Caroline Back was the sister of her Great Great Grandmother Naomi Back. Her father was Henry Back.
