  Notes	Mary GREEN is thought to have been John's common law wife although there is nothing but circumstantial evidence to prove it. The most compelling pieces of evidence are that: (1) in 1901 George GREEN was living with John's parents as their grandson. (2) when Mary married in 1920 her name was shown on the marriage certificate as 'Mary Emily Green otherwise Minter', and her status as 'spinster'. John himself hasn't been found in the 1901 or 1911 censuses and it's not clear what became of him.
