      Zella Marie “Kitty” Bates Minter, 73, of Lexington passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House.
      A funeral service will be held at Center United Methodist Church at 2 pm on Friday, February 14, 2020 with the Rev. Mitch Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
      The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
      Mrs. Minter was born in Davidson County on December 16, 1946 to George Henry Bates and Annie Eris “Polly” Moose Bates. She was a member of Center United Methodist Church and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. She was preceded in death by her parents.
      Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, William Minter of the home; her two daughters, Amanda Auston (Daniel) of Greensboro and Mary O’Sullivan (Jamie) of Napa, CA; her sisters, Sylvia Craver of Lexington, Bonnie Von Stein of Lexington, and Ramona Ravan (Sam) of Inman, SC; her brother, George Ronald Bates of Trinity; her three precious grandchildren, Katy and Sara Auston, and Jacob O’Sullivan; a host of nieces and nephews, and her special extended family and close friends.
      Memorials may be directed to Center United Methodist Church at 186 Center Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
