From findagrave.com, Jan 2015: THE HENRY BULLETIN, Friday, May 18, 1917, p. 2, col. 4: (edited) The people of Martinsville were greatly surprised Friday morning when they learned that Mr. Luther Theophilus Minter passed away during the night at his home on College Street. He was the son of the late Herbert and Katherine Armstrong Minter of this county, and he was 65 years old the 12th of last February. In 1872 he married Miss Susan A. Mohr of Chatham, Va., and resided in the Irisburg community until he came to Martinsville about 19 years ago. Besides his wife he is survived by eight children: Messrs. W. S. Minter of Culpeper, Va., J. C. Minter of Martinsville, F. G. Minter, Roanoke, S.W. Minter of Winston-Salem and Dr. L. C. Minter of New York. Mesdames J. M. Werth of Ceredo, W. Va., A. V. Christman of Waynesboro, Pa., and Miss Susie Minter of Martinsville. Also three brothers, Messrs. J. L. Minter of Martinsville, Edward Minter of Lynchburg and John Minter of Knoxville, Tenn, and two sisters, Mesdames J. H. Land of Henry Co., and Abner Martin of Graham, N. C.
