NB. Although this news report appeared in the Punch
of Mebourne, the marriage took place in London, England.
The wedding of Mr. John Lee Matheson, eldest
son of the late John Matheson, of Moranghurk
Vic., and Miss Lynette Emily Ffloyd Molesworth,
daughter of the late Judge Molesworth and Mrs
Hickman Molesworth, was celebrated on 27th
April by the Rev. Carey Ward, assisted by the
Rev F. Gurdon. The bride, who was given away
by her mother, entered the church on the arm of
her brother, Mr. Lance Molesworth. She wore a
dainty wedding dress of ivory satin, veiled with
mousseline de soie and antique Venetian point lace
Her veil of silk Brussels lace was held in place
by her mother's wreath. Mr. Norman Matheson
was best man. The bride was attended by two
little children, Rosemary Yeld and Edric Nicolay
son of Captain and Mrs. B. N. Nicolay (India) and
grandson of Lady Braddon. They were dressed in
the Stuart mode, and carried roses. After the
ceremony a reception war held at 29 Leinster Gardens.
Mrs. Hickman Molesworth received in a
gown of black ninon, the skirt caught with a handsome
band of embroidery in gold and platinum; a
toque of mauve and ivory chiffon was worn set
with shaded roses. The bridegroom's mother, Mrs
Jervis Aarons, of Harley-street, was gowned in
china blue satin, veiled in chiffon, and a large
black picture hat. The presents were numerous and
handsome.
