  Notes	Most of the children shown are definitely Richard's. Although there's no direct evidence, two other children have been assumed to be Richard's: Emma and George. The basis for this is that they were both born in Hammersmith in the period between Richard's marriage in 1818 and the birth of Richard in 1824. The marriage took place in Ealing which is only a few miles from Hammersmith, where Richard was born, and from Acton where Richard and Margaret lived in 1851. October 2010: On further consideration, Emma and George probably weren't Richard's children. Baptisms for Elizabeth (in 1818), Mary (in 1820), Harriet (in 1822) and Richard (in 1824) have now been found on London Metropolitan Archive so it seems unlikely that Emma and George would not have been baptised. Also, an IGI record for an Emma baptised on 13 December 1818 in Hammersmith gives parents as Thomas and Mary Minter. April 2013: further progress. The transcript of the parish register (at Ancestry.com) of All Saints Church, Fulham shows that the Thomas and Mary referred to above had several children between 1804 and 1812. The register also has a marriage in 1803 between Thomas Winter (almost certainly a mis-transcription) and Mary CLACK. It seems very likely that Thomas was Richard's brother, and perhaps Mary Clack was Margaret Clack's sister. The births or baptisms of Richard and Thomas haven't been found but the burial of a Walter Minter in 1803 may have been of their father. In addition to the above, the two children once thought to be Richard's, Emma and George, have been moved to become Thomas's children. 1841 census (indexed as MENTON by Ancestry.com): in Knevetts Row, Acton, Richard (55, labourer), Margaret (50), Richard (15), James (10) and Walter (5). All born Middlesex. 1851 census: in Acton Green, Acton, London, Richard (65, labourer), Margaret (61), Richard (28, labourer), Samuel (24, labourer) and Walter (20, labourer). Buried aged 69 of Turnham Green. 1861 census: Richard died in 1853; his widow Margaret (68, needle woman) was living as head of household at 7 Chapel Houses, Chiswick with son Richard (36, labourer) and grandson Francis JETSON or JOHNSON (10, born Acton). September 2009: another child of Richard appears to have been Harriet, born about 1823, who married Benjamin Hopson in 1846. She gave her father's name as Richard Minter, labourer. Oct 2010: Harriet & Richard as Richard's children is confirmed by their baptism records at London Metropolitan Archives. November 2009: 1841 census now found (indexed as MENTON by ancestry.co.uk) - details inserted above. A further child appears in this census, James, then aged 10, possibly a rounded number.
