| Notes |
- The ancestry of Charles is unknown. His father's name isn't shown on his marriage certificate. His birth certificate might help but hasn't been obtained. However, he was baptised on 24 March 1895 at St Faith, Wandsworth as Charles Thomas Pridmore, mother Martha Minter of 14 Dighton Road, Wandsworth. This doesn't help to establish Charles's ancestry.
In 1901 Charles, aged 22 a candle maker, lived at10 Ebner Street, Wandsworth, London as the grandson of Samuel Pridmore (70, born Battersea) and Caroline Pridmore (77, born Hyde Park). Charles's birth was registered in Q2 1879 (Kensington 1a/73). He hasn't been found in 1891 but in 1881, aged 2, he was with the Pridmores (as a visitor) at 115 Winstanley Road, Battersea. In 1911 Charles had evidently decided to adopt the surname Pridmore instead of Minter: aged 31, single, a candle maker, he was living at 10 Edna Street, Wandsworth as the son of Samuel Pridmore now aged 82 and a widower.
Samuel Pridmore was born about 1828 and died aged 83 in Q2 1911 (Wandsworth 1d/332). He was married twice, firstly In Q2 1852 (Kensington 1a/32) to Maria HEDCOCK (who died aged 49 in Q1 1875 (Wandsworth 1d/476)) and then in Q4 1876 (Lambeth 1d/733) to Caroline HOLLEY. The following census details have been found:
