A son of the late Adam Rodgers and Maggie Ginger Rodgers, he was born on January 31, 1881, in Bath County where he spent his early life. He later moved to Nelson county but for the past sixty years had been residing in Rockingham county. Theodore Rodgers, and Robert N. Rodgers, both of Harrisonburg; Mrs. Anne Lee Shull, of Bridgewater: Mrs. Virginia Storm, of Cockeysville, Md.; and Henry F. Rodgers, of Staunton. He also leaves eighteen grandchildren: three great grandchildren; three brothers, Howard Rodgers, of Timberville; Harry Rodgers, of Winchester, and Frank Rodgers, of Rockingham, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held this (Sunday) afternoon at three o'clock from the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles B. Robinson and the Rev. Marvin Maiden will conduct the services, and burial will be in the St. Jacobs (Spaders) Lutheran Church Cemetery.
