John grew up in the Pasadena area, where he attended Sam Rayburn High School, married the mother of his children, Wynnell Minter. He did a short time in the Marine Corps, then John and his father Bobby R. Minter owned and operated Minter Auto Sales together until Bobby's passing on December 6, 1979. John ran Minter Auto Sales for 52 years and gave his all at everything he did in life. He WORKED HARD and PLAYED HARD until his FINAL HEARTBEAT on May 9, 2020. "
