  Notes	Very strangely, William's birth was registered as John, at Stepney in Q4 1844 (2/487). And the birth certificate is also in the name of John: born on 3 October 1844 at 42 Dempsey Street, father John Minter, pilot, mother Caroline Minter formerly Moore [another mistake]. The birth was registered by the father, John Minter. 1871 census: living with brother and sister at 17 Rectory Avenue, Mile End, London, aged 26, customs agent's clerk. 1881 census: living next door to mother at 2 Grace Hill Cottages, Folkestone, William (36, Continental Carriers clerk, unemployed), Eliza Louisa (24) and William (4 months). 1891 census: her husband and son having died in the 1880s, Eliza Louisa was living with her mother-in-law. 1901 census: not found 1911 census: at 25 Upton Lane, Forest Gate, London (2 rooms), Eliza Louisa (head, 54, widow, private means, born York Square, Stepney, London E). Form signed E L Minter.
