Death of Well-known Solicitor.
The death occurred yesterday at his home, Radnor, Churchill Road, Rose Bay, of Mr. Alexander Robert Minter, senior partner in the firm of Minter, Simpson, and Co., solicitors, Hunter Street. The late Mr. Minter was one of the oldest solicitors in the State.

Bom at Windsor in 1854 Mr. Minter was a son of the late Mr. Robert Brownrigg Minter, a solicitor practising in that town. At the instance of a relative, Mr. Gatewood Davis, K.C., Mr. A. R. Minter was articled to Mr. A. W. Simpson, solicitor, of Armidale. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1881, and subsequently joined the firm of Want, Johnson, and Co. Upon the death of Mr. Want in 1883, he was admitted to the firm, together with Mr. E. P. Simpson, and the firm then became known as Johnson, Minter, Simpson, and Co. Later, upon the death of the senior partner, the firm became Minter, Simpson, and Co. Owing to ill-health Mr. Minter retired from active practice about six or seven years ago. However, he retained his Interest In the firm until his death.
Mr. Minter was a keen sportsman In his youth. Football, rowing, billiards, and, later, golf were his chief recreations. He was captain of the Wallaroos and Burwood Rugby Union teams, both famous at that time for their repeated successes. He was also a distinguished oarsman. He was a member of the Australian Golf Club, the Royal Sydney Golf Club, and the New South Wales Club.
Mr. Minter is survived by Mrs. Minter, three sons, Messrs. Clifford Minter, member of the firm of Minter, Simpson, and Co., Bruce Minter, and Mervyn Minter, graziers, of Gundagai, and a daughter, Mrs. N. G. Pilcher. The funeral will take place at the Church of England Cemetery, Rookwood, this morning, the cortege leaving his late residence at 9.30 o'clock.

WILLS AND BEQUESTS.
LATE MR. A. R. MINTER
Probate has been granted of the will of Mr. Alexander Robert Minter, of the legal firm of Messrs. Minter, Simpson, and Co., of Hunter-street, Sydney, who died on November 27 Iast, leaving an estate of the net value of £49,645. Testator, who was 75 years of age, appointed his wife and his son, Clifford Min ter, his executors and trustees. He bequeathed the income from £10,000 to his widow during her life, and the residue of the estate, including the capital sum of £10,000 after her death, among his children in equal shares.
