1950 United States Federal Census: in Gladewater, Gregg, Texas (all MINTER, all born Texas), Vernon P (head, 35, auto mechanic, auto repair shop), Louise (wife, 28) and Thomas E (son, 10). Also Frank M HOWETH (brother in law, 17, born Texas, attendant, gasoline filling station).

"Son of Thomas Early Minter. He was a truck mechanic, 49 years old, married, and a resident of Gladwater, Texas when he died. Informant was Tommy Minter; burial was August 18, 1964. Malcolm Stone Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
(Texas death certificate# 49863)."
The death certificate shows that Vernon died as a result of multiple injuries sustained in an automobile accident which occured at 12.30 on 16 August in Judson Road, Longview, Texas. He died in the Good Shepherd Hospital in Gladewater.
