  Notes	From findagrave.com, Mar 2015: Funeral services for Thelma "Mema" Minter, 91, of Henderson, will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Crawford - A. Crim Funeral Home chapel with Revs. Ray Brooks and Frank Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Long Branch Cemetery under the direction of Crawford - A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 17 at the funeral home. Mema went home peacefully on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 with her family by her side. She was born March 4, 1921 at home in Long Branch and was a lifelong resident of both Panola and Rusk Counties. She graduated from Long Branch High School in 1939. She then worked in the '60s at the Bath House at Lake Forest Park, the Leisure Lodge, and in the '70s at Southwood Nursing Home. She would also keep many children at her home and was a loving mother and grandmother. Mema was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church, and formerly the Long Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mattie Griffith; husband, Melvin Lee "Six-shooter" Minter, Sr.; brother, Pete Griffith; sister, Betty Brady; great-grandson, Brandon Michael Wilder; sons-in-law, Bill Gray, Neal Dickeson, James Price, and Joe Arnold. Survivors include: six children, Peggy Moss and husband Sam, Elizabeth Minter, Linda Dickeson, Billie Dickeson Arnold, Melvin Minter and wife Sheri, Loring Minter and wife Charlotte, and Ann Arnold, all of Henderson; brother, Jimmie C. Griffith and wife Sentis of Long Branch; sister, Mattie Lou Magee of Henderson; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank all those who cared for Mema, including Dr. Roberson, and his nurses and staff; the Advancing At Home Healthcare and Heartsway Hospice caregivers; and the nurses and staff at ETMC Henderson. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartsway Hospice, 437 W. Panola, Carthage, Tx 75633, or to the Long Branch Missionary Baptist Church, 1530 CR 155, Long Branch, Tx 75669. Pallbearers are Kenneth Price, Terry Gray, Lynn Dickeson, Jim Lee Dickeson, Donovan Dickeson, Ricky Minter, Michael Westring, and Loring Minter, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandsons.
