  Notes	From findagrave.com, Feb 2015: Rev. Hugh Willis Corbitt, 83, of Waycross died Tuesday evening (Jan. 28, 2014) at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Waycross to the late Willie D. "Shorty" Corbitt and Lillie Carter Corbitt and lived here most of his life. Rev. Corbitt was a Veteran of the Korean War while serving in the U.S. Army. He was Ordained as a Minister at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Corbitt served Zenith Baptist Church in Manor, Twin Oaks Baptist Church in Hortense and Emerson Park Baptist Church for 22 years. He loved to clean yards, travel to the mountains, enjoyed reading, loved to preach and always visited his congregation when they were sick. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Mintor and his second wife, Bertha Caroline Henderson Corbitt. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Shirley Dowling Williams Corbitt of Waycross; three step children, Tammy Williams Yawn and her husband Jim of Kissimmee, FL, Cindy Williams Thomas of Waycross, Darrell Timothy "Tim" Williams, Washington, DC; five grandchildren, Nikki Blanchard and her husband Justin of Chattanooga, TN, Alan Brian Wheeler of Waycross, James Seth Yawn of Kissimmee, FL, Zachary Tyler Yawn of Kissimmee, FL, Jessica Freeman and her husband Steven of Lakeland, GA; four great grandchildren, Aubrey Grace Blanchard, Caleb Blanchard, Lilah Blanchard and Jacobie Freeman. A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 pm at Crawford Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
