| Notes |
- On 1 March 1855 Mary Ann's mother made the following written statement at Clerkenwell Police Court. The original is in the London Metroplitan Archive at Ancestry.co.uk.
I Elizabeth Minter of 31 Margaret Street, Wilmington Square, Clerkenwell, county of Middlesex do solemnly and sincerely declare that in the entry of the baptism of my daughter "Mary Ann" which took place at the Parish Church of St James Clerkenwell on the 28th day of April 1822, the surname is spelt wrong being entered as "Mintor" instead of "Minter" which is my proper name which may be proved by the entry of the baptism of my son which took place on the 28 day of March 1824.
Elizabeth Minter
Taken, subscribed and received by me Robert Philip Tyrwhitt Esquire, one of the Magistrates of the Police Courts of the Metropolis, sitting at the Police Court at Clerkenwell within the Metropolitan Police District, this First day of March 1855.

- John Minter bachelor of this parish and Elizabeth Stafford spinster of this parish, by banns. Both signed full names. Witnesses Thomas Lewis and Mary Ann Lewis.
Comparison of Elizabeth's signature with that written in 1855 in connection with the baptism of daughter Mary Ann (qv) makes it fairly certain that the two signatures are of the same person, particularly in the way the 'z' of Elizabeth is formed.
