Christopher was baptised as the baseborn son of Sarah Marsh. He was buried at Wickhambreaux, aged 24, as Christopher Minter: Cliff Minter speculates that 'at his burial, either he or his mother or both (and perhaps his father) wanted him to be known as Minter'. The tombsone reads:
In affectionate remembrance of Christopher Minter late of this parish who died December 13th 1827 aged 24 years.
also of Edward brother of the above who died May 9th 1886 aged 85 years
