James born 14 Jun 1890 of 50 Stanley Street, father E J Minter, started at Plessey Road First School, Blyth on 1 Jun 1897, having previously been in the Infant's School. He left on 15 Jul 1904 to go to HGS.
James was 27 when he became a casualty of WW1. He was a private, service number 19/117, in the Northumberland Fusiliers, 19th Bn. He is remembered at I.N.6 in the Tincourt New British Cemetery. Next of kin were Mr & Mrs E J Minter of 3 Collingwood Terrace, Blyth, Northumberland.
James's death (from wounds) was recorded in The Times on Friday, Aug 10, 1917; pg. 5; Issue 41553.
